Collegiate Wrestling

Collegiate Wrestling is the style of wrestling from United States. Collegiate Wrestling practiced at the college, high school, middle school, and elementary levels.

Collegiate Wrestling scoring system is different from the Olympic Wrestling and Catch Wrestling. Wrestler must pinning their opponent on the mat for 3, 5 or 10 seconds (every organizers use different counting method). No dangerous throws, jointlocks or chokes are permitted here.

By the 1880s, American wrestling became organized, with matches often being conducted alongside gymnastic meets and Boxing tournaments in athletic clubs. More colleges, universities, and junior colleges began offering dual meets and tournaments, including championships and having organized wrestling seasons.
