Taido


Taido (躰道) is a Japanese acrobatic martial dance created in 1965 by Seiken Shukumine. Mix of Karate Kata and Freestyle Capoeira.

In 1984, the World Taido Federation was established, globally standardizing the martial art of Taido. The first official World Championships in the sport were held in Japan in 1993.

Kapu Kuialua


Ancient Hawaiian wrestling style based on bone breaking - joint locks. The Koa warrior group are credited as the creators of Kapu Kuialua, they are famous warrior who helped Kamehameha the Great unify the islands in 1810.

Many years later, Kamehameha II established three Lua schools to help prevent extinction of this art. Kapu Kuialua introduce as modern wrestling sport to America first time in 1963 by Olohe Solomon Kaihewalu.

Koppo


Koppo or Koppo Jutsu (骨法術) is a Japanese wrestling style that focus on inflicting damage by attacking the skeletal system, using force or pressure on specific points to break bones or damage joints.

Koppo was developed from older Chinese Qin Na, brought to Japan by Chinese monk named Chan Busho in the 16th century.

Short Shout

Short shout, also called as Kiai (Japanese), Fasheng (Chinese) or Kihap (Korean) is shout or yell that concentrates and releases unified energy during a strike or blow to increase power and focus.

It helps to concentrate mental and emotional energy, putting the practitioner in a state of focused determination.

Short shout also involves proper breathing and the use of deep core muscles, to support the strike. Release the concentrated energy in a quick, sharp, and loud exhalation from the stomach.

There are 3 styles of short shout in martial art:

1. Soldier Style

A loud intimidating shout like soldier in battle. For examples: “HIAA!!”, “HEII!!”, “ORA!!”, “HEAA!!”, “HATA!!”.


2. Monkey Style

A funny small high-pitched sound like a monkey taunts the opponent. For examples: “Huu....”, “Hoo....”, “Haa.....”, “Wata....”.


3. Snake Style

A small sound that blows the wind like a hissing snake. For examples: "Psuh....", "Sih.....", "Suh....", "His...".


How to train it:

When you doing basic strikes training, shouting / yelling at every 10th strike (yelling at every last count strikes).
