When We Are Allowed To Hit Someone?

As self defense practitioner, there are 4 situations where we are allowed to hit someone:

1. When someone trying to attack us or touching our body.

2. When someone trying to touching, stealing or sabotage our private belongings.

3. When someone trespassing our private area without permission.

4. When someone being attacked and need our help (good person only, we never help bad person).

How To Stopping A Fight

Stopping a fight is mandatory skill that must be mastered by all fighting sport trainers and referees.

Sometimes, the fighters can't / won't listen your command, so you must stop the fight and separating both fighters using direct force (personally, i was also can't listen the referee several times because the tournament venues are too noisy).

Taekwondo


Taekwondo (태권도) is a Korean fighting style, also known as Tang Soo Do (당수도).

This fighting style was created based on Kungfu brought from China during Tang dynasty era (ruled from 618 to 907).

Originally, Tang Soo Do was the first name used for this fighting style. Later Choi Hong Hi advocated the use of the new official name Taekwondo in 1955 replacing old Tang Soo Do names.



Silat


Southeast Asian fighting style developed from Chinese Kungfu.

In southeast Asia countries, Kungfu was brought by buddhist monks. Then the Malay students created new fighting style named Silat between 14th-17th century.



Kungfu


Kungfu (武術) / Kuoshu (國術) is an Ancient northern Chinese fighting style created before Xia Dynasty (2070-1600 BC).

It is said that the Yellow Emperor (Huangdi), who ascended to power in 2698 BC, introduced the earliest systematized fighting style in China which taught both punch and kick techniques.



Kickboxing


English name of ancient fighting style. Also known as Musti Yuddha (Hindi), Adithada (Tamil) and Moraingy (Madagascar).

Second oldest fighting style after Boxing. Various ancient Kickboxing tournaments existed in ancient India since the middle of the 2nd millennium BC.



Karate


Karate (空手) is a Southern Japanese (Ryukyu Kingdom) fighting style created in 13th century. Developed from Kungfu (武術) / Kuoshu (國術) / Kuntao (拳道) which brought from China to Southern Japan.

After trade relationships were established with Ming Dynasty (China) by King Satto of Chuzan, Chinese fighting style also introduced to the Ryukyu islands. Later Ryukyuan students created new fighting style named Karate.



Jeet Kune Do


Jeet Kune Do (截拳道) is a modern fighting style created by Bruce Lee (Lee Jun Fan) in 1967. Hybrid martial art formed from Lee's experiences in unarmed fighting and self defense. 

When it comes to combat, Jeet Kune Do practitioners believe the simplest techniques are work best. Jeet Kune Do students are always told to no wasting time and stamina with useless movements, strike the opponent immediately with powerful and precise strike, finish the fight quick as possible.



Boxing


English name of ancient fighting style. Also known as Mulakima (Arabic), Pygmachia (Greece), Dambe (Nigeria), Takanakuy (Peru), Kulachniy Boy (Russia), Loh Mushti (Punjab) and Bahu Yuddha (Hindi).

Oldest fighting style on the world, named Boxing because 2 fighters are fight in box-shaped arena. The oldest historical artifact of Boxing comes from a Sumerian relief in Iraq from the third millennium BC.
