Karate

Karate (空手) is a Southern Japanese (Ryukyu Kingdom) fighting style created in 13th century. Developed from Kungfu (武術) brought from Northern China to Southern Japan.

After trade relationships were established with Ming Dynasty (China) by King Satto of Chuzan, Chinese fighting style also introduced to the Ryukyu islands. Many years later, Ryukyuan Kungfu students created new fighting style named Karate.
