How To Choose Martial Art Style For Beginner

For new recruit students who want to learn martial art with me, i always give them all of my training syllabus tutorials & i tell them to research the basic techniques first. Once they know which 1 fighting style they like, then the training can begin.

If they are still confused, I always ask next question: Is there any action hero/idol figure they like from their favorite cartoon/film/game/comic series?

But if they are still confused, my final step is recommending Filipino Panantukan for male new recruits and Hokkien Kuntao for female new recruits:

- They teach easy punches and kicks which can be learned by everyone completely, no high/acrobatic kicks in their training syllabus.

- Very helpful for limited space combat situation where we are attacked at narrow place.

- Very helpful for women when wearing a long dress/tight skirt and can't do high kicks.

- Practical for daily life when we want to do cardio aerobic exercise in a small house.

The only little difference between those 2 arts is Panantukan fighting stance is more masculine (harder, more favored by men) & Kuntao fighting stance is more feminime (softer, more favored by women).
