Kapu Kuialua


Ancient Hawaiian wrestling style based on bone breaking - joint locks.

The Koa warrior group are credited as the creators of Kapu Kuialua, they are famous warrior who helped Kamehameha the Great unify the islands in 1810.

Koppo


Koppo or Koppojutsu (骨法術) is a Japanese fighting style developed from older Chinese Kungfu, brought to Japan by Chinese monk named Chan Busho in the 16th century.

The concept of Koppo is striking the vital points and skeletal structure.


Short Shout

Short shout, also called as Kiai (Japanese), Fasheng (Chinese) or Kihap (Korean) is shout or yell that concentrates and releases unified energy during a strike or blow to increase power and focus.

It helps to concentrate mental and emotional energy, putting the practitioner in a state of focused determination.

Short shout also involves proper breathing and the use of deep core muscles, to support the strike. Release the concentrated energy in a quick, sharp, and loud exhalation from the stomach.

There are 3 styles of short shout in martial art:

1. Soldier Style

A loud intimidating shout like soldier in battle. For examples: “HIAA!!”, “HEII!!”, “ORA!!”, “HEAA!!”, “HATA!!”.


2. Monkey Style

A funny small high-pitched sound like a monkey taunts the opponent. For examples: “Huu....”, “Hoo....”, “Haa.....”, “Wata....”.


3. Snake Style

A small sound that blows the wind like a hissing snake. For examples: "Psuh....", "Sih.....", "Suh....", "His...".


How to train it:

When you doing basic strikes training, shouting / yelling at every 10th strike (yelling at every last count strikes).

Mongol Bokh


Mongolian folk wrestling style created since 7000 BC era.

Cave paintings in the Bayankhongor Province of Mongolia dating back to Neolithic age of 7000 BC show grappling of two naked men and surrounded by crowds. The art of Bokh also appears on bronze plates discovered in the ruins of the Xiongnu empire (206 BC - 220 AD).

Slingshot Archery


A slingshot or catapult is a small hand-powered projectile weapon. Slingshot was used for combat, shooting the fruits on high tree and hunting small animals.


Crossbow Archery


During ancient warfare eras, crossbow was used for defensive and support role. Crossbow users can carry more arrows because those length are shorter than traditional arrows, but crossbow is slower to be reloaded because it string heavier than traditional bow, it need two hands to pull it string.



Modern Shooting


Shooting is modern competitive sport developed from traditional bow archery, crossbow archery and then modern shooting sport using handgun and rifle. The first created firearm was the fire lance (Huo Qiang) developed in the 10th century, which evolved into the metal-barreled hand cannon Heilongjiang by the 13th-century Yuan dynasty.









Bow Archery


During ancient warfare eras, bow was used for offensive role. Bow was used to raid the enemy directly, because it string can be pulled only with one hand so the archer can shoot the arrows and reload it quickly.





Nunchaku Fighting

 

A standard Stick weapon splitted in the middle into 2 small sticks then connected with short chain or rope.

This iconic Asian weapon is very popular in ancient China, Philipine and Japan.






Long Staff Fighting

 

Long Staff is one of the most ancient weapons, used in all countries from Africa to Asia for self-defense and combat.

It has same fighting technique with spears and often used as training / competition weapon by ancient spearmen worldwide.
