Pro Wrestling

Professional Wrestling/Pro Wrestling/Lucha Libre is a form of athletic - action theater art show centered around mock combat, with the premise that its the artists/performers are competitive wrestlers. The concept is similar with Wushu Taolu, using choreograped martial art/fighting moves for art performance show.

Professional wrestling did not have one single creator, it grew from 19th century European carnivals and traveling circus - theatre shows. The trio Pro Wrestling promoters known as The Gold Dust Trio (Ed "Strangler" Lewis, Billy Sandow and Toots Mondt) was important figures who revolutionized Pro Wrestling in the 1920s into modern sports entertainment we knew today.

Taekwondo Teul

Taekwondo Teul (태권도틀) is Korean martial dance art created by Choi Hong Hi in 1955, Mix of Karate Kata and Tang Soo Do Teul dances.

Created along with Choi’s International Taekwondo Federation to promote both Korean fighting sport and martial dance.

Taido

Taido (躰道) is a Japanese acrobatic martial dance created in 1965 by Seiken Shukumine.

Mix of Karate Kata and Freestyle Capoeira.

Capoeira

 

African - Brazilian art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics and kicks.

Born of the melting pot of enslaved africans, indigenous brazilians and portuguese influences at the beginning of the 16th century.

Karate Kata

 

Karate Kata (空手型) Okinawan martial dance art created in 17th century.

Created by Okinawan students based on Chinese Wushu Taolu (武術套路) dance art they learned in China.

Pencak Silat

Southeast Asian countries martial dance art created by Malay students between 14th-15th century.

Based on Wushu Taolu (武術套路) dance art brought by monks.

Kenpo Kata

 

Kenpo Kata (拳法型) is Japanese martial art dance art created by Japanese students in 15th century.

Based on Wushu Taolu (武術套路) dance art brought by Chinese masters.

Tang Soo Do Teul

Tang Soo Do Poomsae (당수도틀) is Korean martial dance art created during Japanese occupation in 1940s.

Based on Karate Kata (空手型) dance art, Korean students began to create new martial dance art combined with Tang Soo Do techniques.

Wushu Taolu

Wushu Taolu (武術套路) is martial dance art created in Tang Dynasty China (rule from the 7th to early 10th centuries) that combine various Kungfu moves into it dance choreography.

The idea of mixing both martial art and dance art as new art were developed by Li Bai (701-762).
